The procedure for issuing unified electronic visas has been approved

The procedure for issuing unified electronic visas to citizens of foreign countries, the list of which is determined by the Russian Federation’s Government, was approved. As well as the procedure for extending the validity of unified electronic visas and the permitted period of stay of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation on the basis of these visas was defined.

In particular, to obtain a unified electronic visa, a foreign citizen must fill out and submit an application containing digital photos of the person and pages with the data of the identity document, as well as their consent to the processing, transfer, and storage of the information specified in the application, at least 4 calendar days before the expected date of entry into the Russian Federation.

Payment of the fee for issuing an electronic visa is carried out on a specialized website or through a mobile application using the Internet acquiring technology. Notification of a unified electronic visa is sent to a foreign citizen no later than 4 calendar days from the application date.

The data of the issued unified electronic visa is automatically transmitted to the checkpoints.

The extension of the validity period of e-visas and (or) the authorized period of stay of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation on the basis of a unified e-visa is carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia or its territorial bodies.

To leave the Russian Federation, such a foreign citizen should be issued a transit visa (TR1).
