From May 4, 2022, the Bank of Russia lowered the key rate to 14%

The Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia decided to lower the key rate from 17% to 14% per annum from May 4, 2022 (Information message of the Bank of Russia dated April 29, 2022).

Commenting on the decision, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation notes that the external conditions for the Russian economy remain difficult and significantly limit economic activity. At the same time, the risks to price and financial stability have ceased to grow, which created the conditions for a reduction in the key rate.

The next meeting, which will consider the issue of the key rate level, is scheduled for June 10, 2022.
