The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation by note No. 6251/1edn dated 07.06.2021 officially notified the Netherlands of the denunciation of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Netherlands on the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Tax Evasion with respect to taxes on income and property dated 16.12.1996.
Federal Law on Denunciation No. 139-FZ was adopted on May 26, 2021.
The current agreement with the Netherlands allows you to withdraw profits from Russia, paying tax at a rate of 2–3 percent.
Negotiations were held to change the agreement, but they were not successful.
The Netherlands was offered the same conditions as Cyprus, Luxembourg, and Malta. These countries agreed to them, and the Netherlands refused to accept them.
