The Russian government has approved a list of 52 foreign countries whose citizens can get a single electronic visa.
A single e-visa gives you the right to enter the Russian Federation and stay here as a tourist, as well as to participate in scientific, cultural, socio-political, economic, sports events.
This list includes those countries whose citizens were allowed to enter Russia on an electronic visa as part of the pilot project. However, Qatar was not included in this list since there is a visa-free regime between our countries.
Previously, with the introduction of an electronic visa, foreign citizens could only cross the border through the posts in the Far Eastern Federal district, St. Petersburg, Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions, and they could not leave these regions.
But from the beginning of next year, the e-visa will be extended throughout Russia. A foreign person will be able to cross the border through specially equipped posts in different regions and also travel throughout the Russian Federation. The period of stay of foreign citizens in Russia will also increase from 8 to 16 days.
