The Federal Tax Service reminded businesses about the risks of making an entry about unreliable information in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities

The company must ensure that its information in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (EGRUL) is actual.
If the data is unreliable, managers and owners may be limited in their participation and management of the company. The organization may be excluded from the register if a record of unreliable information is in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities for more than six months.

In the information dated 01.02.2024, the Federal Tax Service of Russia reports that in 2023, more than 173,000 companies with unreliable information were excluded from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, and about 275,000 companies, entries about unreliable data were made in the register. One of the most common records of unreliable is a record of an inaccurate legal address of a company.

If an entry with unreliable information about a company is in the register for more than 6 months from the date of its entry, then the Tax authorities may decide to exclude the company from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, which means the company’s forced liquidation. If there are no objections from interested parties after three months from the date of publication, the Tax authority excludes the company from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.
