The Central Bank of Russia introduces a restriction on currency transactions for individuals

On March 9, the Central Bank introduced new restrictions on the operations of Russians with cash currency.

From March 9 to September 9, 2022 individuals can withdraw up to $10,000 in cash from foreign currency account. Amount will be issued in dollars, regardless of the account currency.

Funds over this amount will be issued in rubles at the market rate on the day of issue.

Banks will also not sell cash to individuals, even if it is necessary to pay for a trip abroad.
