For individuals, the limit on money transfers abroad has been significantly increased by the Central Bank of Russia

From May 16, 2022, during a calendar month, residents of Russia, as well as non-residents from friendly countries, have the right to transfer from their account in a Russian bank to their account or another individual abroad no more than 50 000 US dollars or the equivalent in another foreign currency.

Through companies that provide money transfer services without opening an account, you can still transfer no more than $ 5 000 or the equivalent in another currency per month.

Non-resident individuals from friendly countries working in Russia under employment or civil contracts can additionally transfer funds from Russian accounts abroad in rubles and foreign currency in the amount of wages or payments under the GPA and make the same transfers without opening an account.

Non-residents from unfriendly countries working in Russia under employment or civil contracts are allowed to transfer funds from Russian accounts abroad in rubles and foreign currency in the amount of wages and transfer these funds abroad without opening an account. Previously, non-residents from unfriendly countries could only transfer funds in foreign currency up to $ 10 000 from an account and up to $ 5 000 without opening an account.
