The government has prepared amendments to the law «On Consumer Protection» to exclude situations of illegal collection and use of personal data of citizens when they purchase various goods and services.
Now, people are often forced to provide excessive personal data for any purchases, even when it is not required by law. For example, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, driver’s license data, and other personal information are collected from citizens.
Fines will be imposed for such violations of consumer rights.
