The State Duma adopted a bill on amendments to the «Labour Protection» section of the Labour Code. The changes imply a preventive approach to labour protection — prevention of occupational injuries and diseases, taking into account the conditions of work in a particular company.
The state policy in labour protection will be updated with a new assessment and management of occupational risks, which will allow to exclude industrial injuries due to a more targeted approach to labour protection.
The bill provides for:
- the introduction of professional risk management;
- the protection of workers' rights to work in conditions that meet the requirements of the Labour Protection Code;
- change of approach in the implementation of safety measures — to ensure that protective equipment is provided depending on the particular workplace’s harmful production factors.
It also establishes electronic document management in the sphere of labour protection.
